Privacy Policy for Minors

This policy is for you and your parent or guardian. We have written it simply so it is easy to understand. There is also a general Privacy Policy for adult users.

1. Who are we?

We are Mitosk, a Spanish company that has created an app to help you learn through play. We use artificial intelligence (like a very clever robot) to turn your notes and materials into games, exercises, study cards and podcasts.

This policy explains what information we collect about you, what we use it for, who we share it with and what rights you and your parent or guardian (“Parent or Legal Guardian”) have.

2. Do I need my parents' permission?

Yes. If you are below the age at which your country's law lets you decide about your data yourself (for example, under 14 in Spain), your Parent or Legal Guardian needs to give us permission before you can use Mitosk. We will email them a link to approve it.

If you are in the United States and under 13, you can only use Mitosk through your school (Enterprise); you cannot register directly.

3. What information do we collect?

What you give us when you register

• Your email address (or the one for your Google or Apple account).
• Your date of birth (so we know you are a minor and can activate special protections).
• An alias — a made-up name for the game. We recommend that you do not use your real name.
• Your Parent or Legal Guardian's email address (stored separately, only to ask for their permission).

What is created when you play

• Your progress: completed levels, correct answers, streak, league position and achievements.
• Your coins and game items (avatars, frames, boosters).
• Your friends list and the multiplayer games you play.
• Your conversations with Ratatosk (the game's tutor).

What the app collects automatically

• Whether your device is an iPhone or an Android.
• A special code so we can send you game notifications.
• The days you play and which parts of the day you play in. We do not store what you did at each moment: only whether you were playing.
• How long you keep the app open each time you play.

Material you upload to create Worlds

If you upload a PDF or images, or write text to create a World, we use that material to prepare the content. We may store working files to complete, resume or review generation. Retention periods and deletion must be settled before the service opens to the public, as explained in the general Privacy Policy.

4. What do we use your information for?

• So you can play, create Worlds, talk to Ratatosk and take part in leagues and multiplayer.
• To save your progress and achievements.
• To send you game notifications (for example, when someone challenges you to a game).
• To keep the game safe: we have filters that block harmful content and a team that reviews reports.

5. What do we NOT do with your information?

• We do NOT show you personalised advertising. If you see ads, they are the same for all minors and are not based on what you do.
• We do NOT create a commercial profile of you or analyse your behaviour to sell you things.
• We do NOT sell your data to anyone.
• There is NO chat or messaging between players. Nobody can write to you inside the game. Multiplayer only shows your alias, avatar and basic statistics.
• We do NOT send you notifications based on your behaviour. Notifications are the same for all minors.
• Your material is not considered anonymous just because AI transforms it. The PDFs, images or text you upload may be retained with working files to prepare or review the World. You can read about retention limits in the general Privacy Policy.

6. Who do we share your information with?

To make the game work, we share some data with companies that help us:

• Artificial intelligence companies (Google Gemini, Mistral, Groq and Fireworks): to create exercises, podcasts and Ratatosk's answers. They process information to provide these features. Their terms and safeguards for minors must be reviewed before the Service opens to the public. A generated answer may contain data from the material used; creating it with AI does not automatically make it anonymous.
• Google AdMob: helps us show ads. But for minors, ads are not personalised.
• Google Cloud and other infrastructure providers: help us host and maintain the game. Not all data is necessarily processed in a single region. Each provider's destinations and safeguards must be verified before the service opens to the public and are described in the general Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google): to send you game notifications.

We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it (for example, if an authority asks us to).

7. Special protections for you

Because you are a minor, Mitosk activates special protections on your account:

• Ratatosk only speaks to you in her friendly version (without sarcasm).
• The conversational Tutor only works if your Parent or Legal Guardian has authorised it, and it has usage limits.
• Your account's privacy settings are the most restrictive by default.
• The ads you see are contextual, not personalised.
• If you want to buy something with real money (the Premium Plan or Virtual Currency), your Parent or Legal Guardian must authorise it first. Spending coins you have already earned by playing does not need permission.
• If content that could be dangerous for minors is detected, it is removed immediately, the responsible account is blocked and, if necessary, the authorities are notified.

8. How long do we keep your information?

• Original material (PDFs, images, text): may be retained to complete, resume or review generation. Its maximum retention period and deletion must be settled and checked before the service opens to the public.
• Your account data and progress: while your account is open.
• Conversations with Ratatosk: while you have your account. Your Parent or Legal Guardian may ask for them to be deleted.
• If you close your account (or your Parent or Legal Guardian closes it), deletion of associated data is processed. Some data may need to be retained for legal obligations or other reasons explained in the general Privacy Policy.
• If you do not sign in for 24 months, we will let you know before deleting your account.
• The days you play and how long for: the days are kept for 400 days; the length of each game session for 90 days. They are then deleted automatically.

9. About anonymised data

Results and metrics recorded to evaluate or improve the service may contain personal data. They are not automatically considered anonymous. The conditions and exclusions for each plan must be settled before the service opens to the public. Data needed to make the game work, protect it or comply with the law is different from data used to improve models. Your Parent or Legal Guardian can read more in the general Privacy Policy.

10. Your rights and your Parent or Legal Guardian's rights

Your Parent or Legal Guardian has the right to:

• Know what data we have about you and ask for a copy.
• Ask us to correct data that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete all your data (or close your account directly).
• Ask us to stop using your data for a particular purpose.
• Withdraw the permission they gave us at any time.
• Delete the history of your conversations with Ratatosk.

To exercise these rights, your Parent or Legal Guardian can write to us at legal@mitosk.com. We will respond within one month at most.

If they believe we are not treating your data properly, they can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD) or their country's data protection authority.

11. Users in the United States (COPPA)

If you are in the United States and under 13, you can only use Mitosk through your school (Enterprise), not through direct consumer registration. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 in the US and believe we have collected their data without proper authorisation, contact us immediately at legal@mitosk.com.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make an important change, we will tell you through the app and, if necessary, email your Parent or Legal Guardian.
